CPS has its own full in-house service bureau and fulfilment centre in the UK, which enables us to provide our customers with fast, efficient, flexible and cost effective card personalisation solutions.
When determining the best technology for any identity or security application, CPS considers many factors including data storage, security, ease of use, cost and suitability.
Some of the technologies we use are described below:
Retransfer Printing
Retransfer printing is a personalisation method that prints the required information onto a high quality film, and then transfers the entire image to a card. This allows a full edge to edge print on small runs of cards.
Dye-Sublimation Printing
Personalisation of cards with colour and black information on pre-printed base stock is normally performed using dye-sublimation. The information is bonded onto the surface of the card body.
Embossing
Compared to surface printed information enbossing provides a more permanent personalisation of a card. The text and numbers are physically punched through the card to provide a raised profile of the card holder information.
Magnetic Stripe Personalisation
Magnetic stripes have long been used to carry personal information in an easy to read format for computers and other electronic devices. With up to 3 lines of information these are still very useful today.
Contactless Chip Encoding
Contactless chip technology is widely used in access control and transportation systems where a more secure method, yet still very quick and convinient, of holding cardholder information is required.
Contact Chip Encoding
With the need to hold large amounts of data on a card, or the card to perform security operations, contact chip cards are used. With our own in-house software we can encode cards to your exact requirement.
Holographic Overlays
Holographic, and clear, overlays are used to both protect surface printed personalisation, and add security. Both standard designs, and custom designs, can be added to a card.
Holograms and Hot Foil Stamping
For another layer of protect a security feature can be stamped on to a card, and this can be a bespoke hologram, a custom foil stamp design, or a generic design. We can even add these to cards manufactured by other companies.
